A telenovela, or Spanish soap opera is similar to American soaps, except that they aren't on forever like Days has been on for over 40 years. Spanish soap operas have an ending and are over in about 3 or 4 years. The bad thing about a Spanish soap opera is when one ends, another will take that time slot. For example if a Spanish soap opera finished today at 7 p.m., another one would take the 7 p.m. time slot the following Monday.
