I HAVE ADVENT LAPTOP FROM UK AND I WAS USING IT THE LCD IS SO DIM.I TRIED CNTRL PANEL+ POWER MANEGMENT AND FACTION F2 WHICH MAKES THE LCD BRIGHTER.. OPER. WIN VISTA.

Most likelly a broken lcd....replace the laptop or get your money back
on a dell, it's the function and the up and down arrow keys makes it brighter and dimmer.
