GM of fast food Restaurant make (considerably) less than Asst. Mgr.?

My wife is the 7th GM in 4 yrs %26amp; been employed for 18 mths, Past GM's have stolen Cash, Food, sold drugs out of store %26amp; ran it into the ground. My wife loves her job, her employees %26amp; customers, puts in a honest 54-60 hrs a week. For the 1st time EVER! the stores profits exceeded proj. sales by 40 grand! #1 in drive-thru times, food cost,%26amp; labor, out of 18 stores in her district. 2 mths ago, the district Mgr %26amp; her husband(ex-owners)%26amp;(dir.of oper.) tell my wife that they have a lady who's moving in from out of state %26amp; will be her new Ast. Mgr. She shows up %26amp; hasn't worked fast food or been a Mgr. for over 9 yrs %26amp; is a Very slow learner. My wife trained her from scratch. She's NOT responsible for any GM dutys, EOD, EOW paperwork,scheduling,ordering,ect.%26amp; shy's away from any responsibility.

Oddly, Corp. has had her checks sent to her home, not the store. Yesterday, they mistakenly sent it to the store %26amp; my wife found out she makes 10,000 yr. more than her to basiclly cover her days off

she's probably "kin" to the disrict manager.
Tell your wife, to ask for a letter of referral first, she should draft it and have them sign it. Take the letter and move on. When she finds another store, ask for a bonus up front for exceeding the projections, so on...Good experience to learn..costly. that lady that came in and earned more money is somehow involved with the owner. maybe a lover? or relative of a good friend? who knows...just move on life is to short, your wife is the star...
