How can i convert something from being electrical to running off a battery?

i am an avid camper and would like to take some uncommon items with me camping--like a dvd player (have bat oper tv)

--as i like to tinker i want to take a regular electrical appliance

and run it off a 12 volt battery--can this be done? and how

12vdc to 120vac inverters are relatively cheap. I saw some in Harbor tools if you have one near you. Probably have them in Walmart.

They are available in different power ratings and the price goes up with the power so look at what you want to run and buy something accordingly.

Bear in mind the high power ones will quickly discharge the battery.

Consider a generator for powering your items or recharging the battery during the day. Some of the small generators are pretty quiet.

but the problem is how many battries you are going to take with you because some electrical equipment consume a high power.

if you realy want to take electrical appliance to a camping trip i advice you to take a small generator.

there are small generator used specialy for camping and they are not very large and they are effective.
